The Amazon Music web player runs in any browser with no app installed. It streams a catalogue of over 100 million songs — but it cannot download anything for offline listening, and on a standard Prime plan most of that catalogue only plays in shuffle.

Amazon runs one web player per store, on the same account. You are redirected automatically, but both work directly:
- music.amazon.com — global / US store
- music.amazon.fr — French store
Your library, playlists and subscription follow the account, not the address.

Three limitations worth knowing first
These are the points people run into, and none of them is a fault in your browser or your connection.
1 · No offline downloads, on any plan
The browser version has no download button. Saving tracks for offline listening requires the mobile or desktop app — and even there, only on the plans that allow it. The web player is streaming only, whatever you pay.
2 · Prime plays in shuffle
Amazon Music Prime, the tier included with a Prime membership, plays most of the catalogue in shuffle. You can start an artist or an album, but you largely cannot pick a specific track and play it on demand. A limited set of All-Access Playlists is exempt.
3 · On-demand control needs Unlimited
Choosing individual tracks, unlimited skips and HD audio belong to Amazon Music Unlimited, a separate paid subscription. Prime alone does not include it.

The last row is the same across every plan. Offline listening is an app feature, never a browser one.
If what you wanted was a long set you can keep
Most people who hit these limits are after the same thing: something long, uninterrupted, that plays without a connection and without an account. Streaming plans are built the other way round.
Podcast feeds are not. A podcast episode is distributed as a plain MP3 file, which is why podcast apps can store it on your phone. Nothing stops you from saving one directly.
Summer Mix Ibiza publishes Deep House and Melodic Techno DJ sets that way. Each episode is a continuous mix of about one hour, mastered from FLAC sources, free since January 2022 — no account, no signup, no app. The series has passed 5 million listens and sits in the top 3 of Amazon Music’s music podcasts in France.
Questions
Can you download music from the Amazon Music web player?
No. Offline downloads are not available in the browser version, on any plan. Downloading requires the Amazon Music mobile or desktop app. The web player is streaming only.
Why does Amazon Music only play in shuffle mode?
Amazon Music Prime plays most of the catalogue in shuffle. Picking a specific track on demand requires Amazon Music Unlimited, a separate paid subscription. It is a plan limitation, not a bug.
Is the Amazon Music web player free?
There is a free ad-supported tier with stations and selected playlists. Prime members get an ad-free catalogue in shuffle. Full on-demand control and HD audio require Unlimited.
Which browsers does it work in?
Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge on desktop, and mobile browsers on iOS and Android. No installation, no extension.
